Biennial Update (MCS-150)
Biennial updates are required by 49 CFR 390.19(b)(4). The biennial update is an update to the DOT number itself and is required to be filed at least every two years but is based on the last two digits of your DOT Number. The chart is as follows:
2nd to last digit
Even number, file every even year.
Odd number, file every odd year.
Last digit
Required to be filed by the last day of:
1 - January 2 - February 3 - March 4 - April 5 - May 6 - June 7 - July 8 - August 9 - September 0 - October

For the Standard Filing, we will submit the update to your DOT number once, and your update will need to be performed again in the future. Each standard filing is $125.00

The FMCSA mandates that all individuals or entities holding a U.S. DOT Number and engaging in Interstate or Intrastate Carrier Operations, Motor Carriers, Broker, Shipper, Freight Forwarder, or Cargo Tank Facility operations must submit a biennial update according to a schedule determined by the last two digits of their U.S. DOT Number. Additionally, in cases where a carrier ceases operations and has not yet informed the FMCSA, they are required to notify the agency of any changes within 30 days and submit a final written report.
